Bangkok (05 Apr 2010 to 08 Apr 2010)

We were a group of 6. BB, Sylvian, Annie, Ita, Eliz and I went to Bangkok.
We planned to meet Zoe's family in Bangkok, but due to the anti-government strike, we cancelled the lunch. It was a relax trip, enjoy food, massage and swimming.

• Gathered at 06:55, the Hong Kong International Airport
• Sylvian gave me her coupon and I enjoyed food in Cathay's lounge
• Changed Thai baht at the Bangkok airport
• Travelled to the Peninsula hotel by two taxis
• Checked in, male's room in 22/F and female's room in 33/F
• Travelled to 中國城銀都酒家 for lunch by taxis
• Bought souvenirs in 林真香
• Walked to hotel Siam@Siam, very hot, Eliz cried ...
• Bought drinks in 7 eleven
• Took rest in Lotus shopping center
• Enjoy massage in SPA Ten
• Requested Siam@Siam staff to call two taxis and tell drivers destination for us, but the staff recommended us a similar restaurant, he also reminded us to avoid some expensive and bad restaurants
• Dinner at 建興酒家, quite good seafood restaurant
• Took taxis back to hotel

• Breakfast in hotel, great breakfast, honey, butter, bread, egg benedict, egg florentine, salmon, ... all tasted good
• So full that we could not have lunch, we went back rooms and took rest
• In the afternoon, we asked hotel staff to cancel the dinner booking near strike area, reserve a table in the restaurant Breeze
• Free shuttle boat ride to the Saphan Taksin BTS station
• In another train station, we heard explosion, not sure whether it was a bomb or a construction site accident, we also saw big pieces of machines on the road
• Ladies travelled to the National Stadium BTS station, had SPA at SPA Ten again because of the big discount (buy one get one free)
• Gentlemen travelled to the Phrom Phone BTS station, window shopping at Emporium and had SPA at Refresh@24
• In the Siam BTS station, saw many red shirts and all shopping malls were closed
• We met the ladies at SPA Ten, said "Thank you" to the Siam@Siam hotel staff for the good seafood restaurant recommendation, then travelled to the Saphan Taksin BTS station
• Walked to the restaurant Breeze, slippers, sandals, small children, backpack, shopping bags, ... not allowed in Breeze
• Also not allowed to take photos for the fascinating corridor connecting indoor area and outdoor area
• After dinner, walked to the pier and took free shuttle boat back to the Peninsula hotel

• Very early breakfast in the hotel
• Ita and Eliz play golf
• We swam and tried to make ourselves hungry, otherwise, we could not have lunch
• We asked hotel staffs to cancel the dinner booking near strike area
• Free boat ride to the train station and then travelled to the Sala Daeng BTS station
• Walked to the Dusit Thani hotel
• Ita and Eliz also went to the hotel after playing golf
• We had lunch together in the restaurant cielo
• cielo served very good Italian food
• In the lunch, while all uncles and aunts distracted Eliz, Ita tried to put some meat in the pizza, however, Eliz was so smart and did not eat the meat
• We also noticed that dress code was not very strict, tank top and slippers were allowed
• BB went back Peninsula to had facial treatment, Ric had massage in Body Tune of Sala Daeng, ladies went shopping in Sala Daeng and then had massage in Body Tune
• After massage in Body Tune, we knew that emergency state had been announced
• We cancelled the dinner and the mid-night bar drink
• Travelled back to the Saphan Taksin BTS station, very crowded in rush hour
• Back to the hotel, had Thai dinner at the restaurant Thiptara in the hotel, enjoyed firework
• Cancelled the lunch in Mandarin hotel, checked the status, discussed with Zoe
