Shanghai (09 Apr 2004 to 12 Apr 2004)
I went to Shanghai with Frank and Sylvian.
In general, Shanghai citizens speak Mandarin. However, it seemed that
they did not understand my Mandarin. They were hotel receptionists,
policemen and masseurs.

-14:30 departure
-16:30 arrival
-waited at airport and arrived Marriott hotel
at 19:20
-went to Bund (外灘) by taxi and took photos
-walked along Nanjing Donglu (南京東路)
-walked to Henanzhonglu Station (河南中路站) and
travelled to Xuijiahui
Station (徐家匯站)
-walked to Hendshanlu (衡山路) and then Tanqing Lu (天平路)
-had dinner in Jesse (吉士), a lot of Hong
Kong people speaking
Cantonese in the restaurant
-walked to Huaihai Xilu (淮海西路), Huaihai Zhonglu (淮海東路)
-had icecream and talked to foreigner
-back to Marriott hotel by taxi

-took photos in Marriott hotel
-travelled to Shanghai Stadium (上海體育館) by taxi, had cheap (RMB0.8
燒賣)
breakfast there and took photos
-12:30 took tourist bus in Tourist Transportation Centre (上海旅遊集散地) to
Zhaozhang (周莊)
-took tons of photos in Zhaozhang (周莊)
-quite a lot of nuts shops and "pig hands" shops in Zhaozhang (周莊)
-had lunch in a restaurant in Zhaozhang (周莊)
-the restaurant was Shum's Dining Room

-17:30 took tourist bus back to Tourist Transportation Centre (上海旅遊集散地)
-travelled to Shanxinanlu Station (陝西南路站) by MTR
-walked to Fanyang Lu (分陽路) and had dinner in Ambrosia
(仙炙軒) which
served Japanese food and Korean food
-went to Jinmao Tower (金茂大廈) by taxi and
took photos in Grand Hyatt hotel
-went to Xin Tian Di (新天地) by taxi and had
massage in Green Massage till
02:00 am, but the masseur did not understand Ric's Mandarin, "suck fire
can" (拔火罐), he thought that Ric wanted "dial and roll" (撥和滾)
-karaoke till 05:00am. The karaoke did not
serve any drink or food. The
karaoke staff served us in a small supermarket in the karaoke. We
bought food and drink in that small supermarket.
-back to Marriott hotel by taxi
11 Apr 2004
-had a full full brunch and watched shows in Westin
hotel
from 12:00 to 15:00
-went to Shanghai Old City Temple (城隍廟) to
buy souvenirs, took photos,
went to Yuyuan Garden (豫園), queued 70
minutes for siu lung (小籠包) which costed 0.5
each
-back to Marriott hotel by taxi
-travelled toDragon Fly by taxi and had massage there because we were
still very full
-walked to Jade Garden (蘇浙匯) and had dinner
at 21:30, but we could not eat much as we were still very full. When we
finished, all customers had left and the waiter gave us free dessert
-paced in the street
-travelled to Xin Tian Di (新天地) by taxi, took photos
for our shadows
-back to Marriott hotel by taxi

-checked out Marriott hotel
-walked to Xiaonanguo (小南國) though it was raining
-had lunch in Xiaonanguo
(小南國), there was big sofa in the female toilet.
-Frank and I had bath and massage in Xiaonanguo
(小南國)
-Sylvian had massage in Green Massage, not Xiaonanguo (小南國) because she
wanted to try "cupping" (拔火罐)
